Port Huron, MI – December 20, 2023 – Lake Huron Medical Center (LHMC) is pleased to announce the successful delivery of the Giving Tree donation collection to Woodrow Wilson Elementary School. The donation drive, which aimed to provide winter coats, snow pants, boots, hats, scarves, and socks to students in need, received an overwhelming response from staff and the community.

Recognizing the importance of keeping children warm and comfortable during the winter season, Lake Huron Medical Center partnered with Woodrow Wilson Elementary School to ensure that every student has access to essential winter items. The Giving Tree donation collection ran from December 1st to December 18th, during which community members, staff and visitors generously donated new winter clothing.

We are thrilled to have received such an incredible outpouring of support from the community,” said Jose Kottoor, CEO of Lake Huron Medical Center. “Thanks to the generosity of Lake Huron Medical Center staff and the community, these students will have the necessary winter clothing to stay warm, protected and healthy. We look forward to continuing this partnership annually and creating more opportunities to support the success of these students and keeping our community healthy.”

The donated winter items were delivered to Woodrow Wilson Elementary School by Jose Kottoor, CEO, Chris Fulks, CFO and distribution technician, Steve Sanderson from Lake Huron Medical Center. The delivery was received by Principal Shylah Eagle and Secretary, Michelle Corsich, who expressed their gratitude for the donations.
