Port Huron, MI – Lake Huron Medical Center (LHMC) is pleased to announce its June 2023 Employee of the Month, Chris Haslip. LHMC is honored to have a strong team of staff and volunteers working hard to deliver high-quality care to the Blue Water Area.

Chris works as a receptionist in our Rehabilitation Services Department and has been an employee at LHMC for seven years. She was nominated by a fellow employee who commented, “Chris Haslip is receptionist extraordinaire at the Marysville physical therapy clinic!! Chris greets patients with a smile and gets their experience off to a great start with her professionalism from the first time they call to schedule until their last day of therapy. She provides encouragement and brings laughter to their day at each visit. She helps to create, adjust and re-adjust schedules as updates are required due to patient availability, illnesses and clinic needs.  Chris supports the therapy staff in many ways each day. Creating charts, verifying insurance, ordering and keeping linens stocked, filling the cryo-cuff, cleaning the hydrocollator, taking daily temperatures to ensure safe temperatures for hot packs, emptying full linen hampers, helping clean and make beds between patients when time allows, ordering supplies and putting away when orders are received are just some of the many routine but much appreciated things Chris does to help things keep running smoothly each day. During Hospital Week, Chris made sure everyone knew what events were happening each day so everyone could participate and not miss out. Another big support is the detailed look at the charges that are input each day, checking to see if any charges were missed or other errors made. This makes sure that we can keep our doors open and receive payment for the services provided. Chris has also assisted by finding and printing coloring pages to help encourage and motivate some of our younger or special needs patients. They have been very excited to choose from a selection of pages after finishing a therapy session. One patient likes Paw Patrol and Chris found Paw Patrol pages for this patient to choose from. This is just one of the many ways Chris helps to make each patient’s experience at our clinic special. Chris in an invaluable member of the team here and we couldn’t do what we do without her. Thank you, Chris, for all the things mentioned here and so much more. Keep up the great work!”

Lake Huron Medical Center is proud of each of its employees and volunteers; and extends a special thank you and congratulations to all our team members, especially Chris, as we celebrate their accomplishments.
