Respiratory Services
More than 35 million adults in the United States have debilitating lung disease such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma and pulmonary fibrosis. Although these chronic conditions do not have a cure, information and education outlining how to manage living with lung disease and maintaining the best quality of life is available through the Better Breathers Club (or BBC).
Lake Huron Medical Center, in conjunction with the American Lung Association, is committed to being a leader in the community for lung health education and disease prevention and launched the Better Breathers Club to meet the needs of the community.
In 2013, the Better Breathers club moved to a new location on the hospital campus. This move was designed to provide a number of significant service improvements.
Within the new facility, members will experience:
- Better parking facilities
- Easier access to the BBC
- A much larger, dedicated, larger facility allowing for improved layout of equipment
- A combined locker/restroom
- Main level location featuring windows and natural lighting
- A private entrance
